Discovering the main tourist destinations in Cusco is always an exciting journey. A quad bike tour through the impressive Andean landscapes of Cusco, a scene worthy of a postcard. This tour promises to leave you absolutely spellbound as you navigate the terrain on our ATVs.
As you traverse the vast rural grasslands of the Sacred Valley, you will have the opportunity to explore the enigmatic salt mines of Maras. These salt mines have been explored since Inca times and their origins remain a baffling mystery to this day.
Our tour ensures that you can explore them away from the hustle and bustle of the large crowds of tourists who tend to arrive earlier or later. After this, your journey will take you to the archaeological wonder of Moray, recognized as an agricultural research laboratory that allowed the Incas to experiment and cultivate various crops at various altitudes.
You will have approximately 20 to 30 minutes to experience the magic of each site. Let the enigmatic Sacred Valley captivate your senses as you tour it on your trusty quad!
Our classic ATV tour of the Maras Moray salt mines promises great fun and the opportunity to visit impressive places. We begin the adventure from your hotel, where you will enjoy a one-hour tour to our starting point of the tour.
Along the way, savor the delicious flavors of Peruvian fruits, delight in scenic landscapes, and quench your thirst with unlimited water. Our certified tour guide will teach you the basics of ATV driving during a short 10-minute training session, after which you will be taken to enchanting destinations filled with towering mountains, glaciers, charming villages and more…
Moray: The trip to Moray is an exciting journey, during which you will enjoy the panoramic route. Here a guided tour awaits you that will discover the enigmatic circular terraces of the most advanced Inca agricultural laboratory of its time. Your visit here will last 20 minutes.
Salt Mines: This extraordinary site has pools of white salt that are still collected by local communities. Located within the Sacred Valley of the Incas, access to the salt mines by all-terrain vehicle is prohibited. Therefore, we will transport you to this captivating place, where you can enjoy a cold Cusco beer.
On the way back to Cusco, we will make a stop at an authentic local market. Here, local women will demonstrate the natural dyeing process, using flowers, tree bark, stones and other items, as well as intricate weaving techniques. Then, we will return to Cusco.
Exciting ATV adventure through the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, while exploring two important sites: the Maras and Moray salt mines. Our trip begins in Cusco and takes you to our Maras base (approximately a 50-minute drive), where you will receive detailed instructions on how to safely operate the ATVs.
When the entire group is ready , we will begin the adventure. We traverse the winding roads of the Sacred Valley, surrounded by stunning landscapes and the majestic snow-capped peaks of the sacred mountains. Our destination is the archaeological site of Moray, where you will enjoy a guided exploration of the ruins.
We will continue our ATV adventure, getting excited as we approach the road that leads to the Maras Salt Mines. For safety reasons, we parked the ATVs and changed to a van to visit the Salineras de Maras. We then returned to our ATVs to continue the adventure back to our base.
This half-day tour can be scheduled for the morning or afternoon. For the morning schedule, expect hotel pickup between 6:30 and 7:10 am, depending on the location of your hotel, and we will return to Cusco around 1:30 to 1:30 pm. the afternoon schedule, your pick up at our Quechuas Adventure Park office is around 12:50 – 1:00 pm and we will return to Cusco around 7:30 pm
For the five days of Salkantay treks, you need personal trekking gear and a sleeping bag. If you do not have a sleeping bag is possible to rent one from us also if you like trekking poles, you can rent them from us. The rest needed for this trek we provide.

NOTE: Salkantay Treks Peru provides a duffle bag in which you can pack up to 7 kilograms of your personal belongings, which will be carried by horses during the trek. During the trek, you will carry a small backpack with the necessary items for the day hike. The rest of your belongings can be packed in the duffle bag, which will be accessible at each campsite.

We leave Cusco and it is a trip of approximately 50 minutes to our base in Maras. You will receive instructions and equipment at our base in Maras.
No previous experience is necessary. We will provide you with instructions on how to safely operate the ATVs before the adventure begins.
The adventure takes you through the stunning Sacred Valley, surrounded by stunning landscapes and sacred snow-capped mountains. We visit the archaeological site of Moray, where you will have a guided tour of the ruins.
After exploring Moray, we continue the adventure heading towards the Salineras de Maras. For safety reasons, we parked the quads and used a van to visit the salt mines. After the visit, we returned to our ATVs to continue the adventure back to our base.
Entrance fees to Moray and the Salt Mines are not included in the tour price. You will need to cover these fees separately.
Meals are not included so plan to bring your own snacks or arrange meals on your own during the tour.
Participants must be in good health and the minimum age may vary depending on the tour operator’s policies. Check with the tour provider for specific age and health requirements.
